• Jerrod Ridgway

    Originally from Montego Bay, Jamaica, Jerrod spread his roots here in Baltimore. He grew up in the Jesuit educational tradition, attending St. Ignatius Loyola Academy, Loyola Blakefield High School, and Loyola University MD. Jerrod is a multifaceted leader who fundamentally believes in being of mutual benefit to his community and - of which food is an integral part.

  • Alyah Kanso

    Board of Directors

    Alyah is a multi-ethnic, cross-disciplinary researcher and environmentalist with and interest in social justice and environmental movements, as well as art, music and culture. With an MA in Environment and Resource Management, Alyah is well-versed in renewable energy, water resources, and environmental economics / policy. A focus on the intersections of social and environmental justice deeply informs both her professional and personal life.

  • Alejandro Gutierrez

    Board of Directors

    A PA native, Alejandro currently resides in Baltimore. He has a Psych degree from Loyola MD and a MA in Organization Development and Change from PSU. He has a passion for data-driven social and organizational change to make things work better for all of us. His hobbies include travel, good food, health and nutrition, and copious amounts of soccer, snowboarding, and coffee.

  • Brandon Young

    Brandon is Maryland native with a BS in Marketing and an MS in Strategic Marketing and Consulting from University of Birmingham. He has experience in analytics, marketing and operations.

  • Rev. Scott Adams

    Board of Directors

    Rev. Scott Hamilton Adams serves as the Assistant Director of Interfaith and Ecumenical Ministries at Loyola University, Maryland. He serves as a liaison between the university and faith communities/organizations in greater Baltimore. In addition, Rev. Scott currently serves as the Senior Pastor of Heritage United Church of Christ. Rev is passionate about his family, his faith and uplifting the black community.

  • Cassandra Ortega

    Education Consultant

    An NYS Certified English Language Arts teacher, grades 7-12, Cassandra has a BA in English and Sociology from the University of San Diego and received her MA in Teaching from Relay Graduate School. A first-generation student, Cassandra is invested in providing knowledge to those from underserved backgrounds and addressing the sociological factors of urban spaces, health, and race.

  • Samuel Branyan

    Consultant

    Sam was an exceptional intern turned consultant for The Calming Leaf Foundation, working on content, research, and projects. He is a junior at Loyola University MD in Global Studies and Writing. He enjoys nature, aeroponics, and urban gardening. Additionally, he loves music, traveling, and learning languages – currently Spanish.
